Czech holidays on "Mácháč"

Less than an hour and a half and 100 km from Prague, a favourite Czech summer place awaits you in the form of a summer stay at Macha Lake. You can stay at one of the local campsites, which are right by the water and for a great price. You will find an authentic experience from Mácháč in the Doksy camp, for example. If you are looking for a little more comfort than camping sites offer, take a look at the accommodation in the area, which you will find for example here.

Travel itinerary

Day 1: enjoy the water

If you want to enjoy a day full of water fun, you will certainly appreciate the water park Staré Splavy, where both swimming pools with filtered water and inflatable attractions on the lake itself await you. If you want more sports and less "fooling around", you can rent equipment for paddleboarding or windsurfing.

The last option by the water is also a blanket on the grass, a book in one hand and a chilled drink in the other hand.

Day 2: have fun

Mácháč is also known for its events and one if of course also happening this weekend. You can visit the event called Roxy Doksy on Friday 2.7. Admission is voluntary, good music guaranteed and we are sure that some beer will definitely be available as well. Just don't come back to the accommodation by car if you want to enjoy your beer :)

Day 3: discover nature

Almost everyone knows that the surroundings of Macha Lake are at least worth a small walk. You can walk around the lake or go to the Králův Stolec viewpoint and see the surroundings from a great height. It is said that Charles IV himself stood on the lookout and enjoyed the view at the region, so the view is literally royal.

Day 4: get to know the culture

Within a walking distance of the lake lies Bezděz Castle. In addition, medieval days are held there from Saturday, so in addition to the castle itself, you can also enjoy performances by swordsmen and dancers. Due to the event, we recommend purchasing tickets to the castle in advance.
